Miss Northwest Florida 2017 (November 2016)

Area title holders competed in the 2017 Miss Northwest Florida Pageant in DeFuniak Springs.  Congratulations to the following: Miss Liberty County, Dillan Green, Miss NWFL Scholar Award; Miss River City, Hannah Sansom, 4th Runner-Up Miss NWFL; Teen Miss Forgotten Coast, Victoria Rollins, Congeniality Award; Junior Miss Liberty County, Adyson Cain, Door Contest Winner; Little Miss Calhoun County, Katelyn Miles, Non-Finalist Judges Award. 

Teen Miss Liberty County at the Florida Seafood Festival (November 2016)

Teen Miss Liberty County 2016, Hannah Bailey, traveled to the Florida Seafood Festival in Apalachicola.  The Florida Seafood Festival is the oldest maritime festival in the State of Florida. 

Senator Montford Appreciation Dinner in Blountstown (October 2016)

Local title holders had the opportunity to meet with Senator Bill Montford in Blounstown.  Senator Montford, along with Senator Gainer and Senator Broxon are all the three Senators that work together to represent NWFL at the Florida Senate.

Gulf County Queens at the Ronald McDonald House

The Gulf County Queens spent the day volunteering at the RMH in Tallahassee! Breakfast was on the menu prepared with love by the girls!

Port Saint Joe Humane Society

Saturday, July 23, 2016 the Forgotten Coast Queens spent some time helping out at the Port Saint Joe Humane Society.

Celebrating Unity

Area queens had the opportunity to help out at the Unity Breakfast in Blountstown that was spearheaded by Ken and Vickie Speights. All law enforcement, first responders, and correctional officers were invited to attend. Later, several queens delivered goody baskets to the Gulf County Sheriff's Department.

Jail and Bail

ARRESTED!!! Miss Liberty County, Miss River City, and Junior Miss Liberty County were wanted women by the Liberty County Sheriff's Department on July 22! And it was for a GREAT cause. The LCSO hosted a Jail and Bail to benefit the Liberty County Angels 10 and Under Girls Softball team to help with expenses as they travel to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to the Softball World Series! The ladies had to raise $100 each to benefit the team in order to make bail! Way to go, girls!!!

Calhoun County School Board Meeting

Several of our title holders had the opportunity to attend and address the Calhoun County School Board meeting on July 21st.

Fishing, Politics, and a Great Cause

Our ladies were very busy this weekend in our community do great things! On Friday, July 15 the girls participated in the Hit the Trail for Sharon Dash and Dine that benefited Sharon Ebersole of Blountstown. Sharon, a young mother and wife was just recently diagnosed with cancer. The community rallied to help raise money to assist with medical expenses. On Saturday and Sunday, July 16-17, the girls attended the Bass Pro Shop Big Cat Quest held in Blountstown, Florida. The Big Cat Quest is a fishing tournament that is held all across the United States. Calhoun County was the only stop this year for the tournament. Finally, a few of our queens had the opportunity to meet with United States Senate candidate Bruce Nathan as he met with locals in Blountstown discussing issues that currently face citizens.

Keeping our Community Clean

Teen Miss and Junior Miss Forgotten Coast spent the afternoon cleaning area parks and river landings as part of their commitment of keeping our community clean.

Community Connections

Building relationships with our local leaders is important to our local queens as they are representatives of our community. Area queens took the time to speak to local leaders at the Calhoun County Commission and the Blountstown Rotary Club. Thank you to the local leaders who welcomed these girls with open arms.

Ronald McDonald House

Local queens volunteered their time at the RMH in Tallahassee this week. The Ronald McDonald House was established to help those with children in the hospital to have a home away from home.

Second Annual Chipola River Clean-Up

The second annual Chipola River Clean-Up was organized by Teen Miss Forgotten Coast and took place on July 9, 2016. Area queens, elected officials, and citizens picked up 125 pounds of trash between Johnny Boy's Landing and Lamb Eddy.

Celebrating the Fourth Along the Coast

Gulf County, Liberty County and Forgotten Coast Queens spent the day celebrating the Fourth of July along the coast. Gulf County and Liberty County Queens attended the Sea Turtle Festival in Port Saint Joe and the Forgotten Coast Queens spent the day in Apalachicola.

Area queens traveled to the Tri-County Agriculture Park in Altha to the God and Country Celebration. From all of us to all of you have a safe and happy Fourth of July!

VFW POST 12010 Memorial Day Ceremony

Area queens were invited to join the VFW Post 12010 at the Calhoun County Courthouse in Blountstown, Florida on May 30, 2016 for their annual Memorial Day Ceremony honoring and remembering those that paid the ultimate price for our freedom.  

Forgotten Coast Paddle Jam

The Forgotten Coast Paddle Jam was held on May 21, 2016 in Apalachicola, Florida. Teen Miss Forgotten Coast and Junior Miss Forgotten Coast spent the day exploring Apalachicola and enjoying the sites as Paddle Jam took place.

Tupelo Festival

The annual Tupelo Festival was held May 21, 2016 in Wewahitchika, Florida. This annual event celebrates Tupelo Honey. Gulf County is the only place in the world where Tupelo Honey is commercially produced. Little Miss Gulf County spent the day exploring the festival and talking to several different people.

2016 Catfish Crawl

The 2016 Catfish Crawl was held on May 21, 2016 in Blountstown, Florida. The Catfish Crawl is a 5K and 1 mile fun run that benefits the Blountstown Fire Department Scholarship Fund. BFD Fire Chief Ben Hall and many others work tirelessly to make this event a success. People traveled from all over Florida to participate in this event, including Miss Leon County, Miss Altha, and Junior Miss Blountstown. Miss Leon County placed top over all female with a personal record. Miss Altha placed second in her age group and Junior Miss Blountstown placed third in her age group. Volunteering to help with this event were Teen Miss Forgotten Coast, Miss River City, Teen Miss Liberty County, Teen Miss Choctawhatchee, and Little Miss Calhoun County.

Our final preliminaries are Miss Calhoun County and Miss Blountstown that will be held June 4, 2016 at the WT Neal Civic Center in Blountstown, Florida.

Women's Health Seminar

Miss Liberty County 2015, Hana, spent May 6, 2016 assisting with the Women's Health Seminar in Bristol, Florida.

Patriot Celebration in Apalachicola

On April 30, 2016, Victoria had the honor to meet and speak with Joseph Galloway today. Mr Joseph is Co-author of the bestseller " We Were Soldiers Once- And Young " which has been made into a critically acclaimed movie, "We Were Soldiers", starring Mel Gibson.
Mr Galloway one of America's premier war and foreign correspondents for half a century, is the only civilian during the Vietnam War to have been awarded a medal of valor, after rescuing wounded soldiers under fire in the la Drang Valley.

Bristol Fishing Tournament

On April 30, 2016 Miss Liberty County and Little Miss Liberty County spent the morning at the fishing tournament at the Bristol boat landing!

Tractor Supply Grand Opening

Ecconomic development is an important issue in small communities like Calhoun County and Liberty County. On April 23, Calhoun County and Liberty County Queens were invited to the ribbon cutting for the new Tractor Supply in Blountstown, Florida. With the addition of this store to the area, not only will it create jobs, but will encourage people to shop local. This truly is a benefit to both Calhoun and Liberty Counties! The girls were very excited to take part in welcoming this new business to our area.

Forgotten Coast Relay for Life

The Gulf County and Forgotten Coast Queens were at Shark Stadium in Port Saint Joe, Florida on April 22, 2016 participating in the Forgotten Coast Relay for Life celebrating and remembering those affected by cancer.


Calhoun-Liberty Relay for Life

Local queens from Calhoun and Liberty Counties spent the evening of April 15, 2016 at Sam Atkins Park celebrating and remembering those affected by cancer.


​Saint Joseph's Bay Humane Society and the Salt Air Farmer's Market

The Gulf County Queens had a blast supporting the Saint Joseph's Bay Humane Society at the Salt Air Farmers' Market on April 16, 2016 in Port Saint Joe, Florida. Joining them was Junior Miss Forgotten Coast, Ashley! If you are interested in adopting a pet, contact the Saint Joseph's Bay Humane Society and give a pet a forever home!


Sweet Tea with the Chief

The Gulf County Queens spent the afternoon with the Port Saint Joe Chief of Police at Bin 4 Eleven on April 7, 2016 in Port Saint Joe, Florida.
